Results of the juniors' match on Saturday 10 August 2024

This was quite a let down for the 8 junior anglers who fished this match at Halnaby, after the really good match the previous week.

Jenny Breeze was the only angler who kept the small fish (mainly perch) feeding throughout the day. She caught 55 fish from peg 8, fishing single maggot on a short whip for a total weight of 4lbs.

Henry Burn was second with 1lb 11ozs, which included a 4oz roach, and a 1oz skimmer.

In third place was Sebastian Boyer, with 1lb 2ozs..

Jake Carter spent quite a bit of tome fishing for bream or carp on peg 9, but didn't manage any proper bites (just a couple of liners) When he switched to close in maggot tactics he managed to put 5 ozs of small perch on the scales.

Newcomer Thomas Altoft also targeted the carp and bream from peg 13, but eventually had to be content with a couple of small perch for 3ozs.

Elijah Macauley had just 2ozs from peg 12, just beating "first time fisherman" Lucas Emerson who had 2 tiny perch for a total of 1 oz from peg 15.

Hamish Barker (who fished for the first time at the equivalent match last year) didn't catch anything, sharing peg 15 with Lucas.

Bobby Myers (another newcomer) tried hard from pag 14, but failed to catch anything.
