RESULT OF THE MOSELLA JUNIOR OPEN MATCH 29 JULY 2023

Despite the switch of venue from Westgate Pond back to Halnaby Lake, the number of fish caught was again disappointing, although the 11 juniors who turned up all caught something and were their usual enthusiastic selves throughout.
Newcomer Henry Burns won with 2lbs 7ozs of small roach and perch from peg 10.
Second was Jacob Suess with 1lb 11ozs from peg 13 (so proving that 13 is not always an unlucky number)
.
Third place went to another newcomer, Sam Neal, who had 1lb 5ozs from peg 1. Included in his catch was the heaviest perch of the day at 13 ozs.
Fourth place went to William Ashbridge (another newcomer to fishing), with 1lb of small roach and perch from peg 15.
Samuel Suess was just an ounce behind, with 15 ozs of perch and roach from peg 12, closely followed with 11ozs by Jenny Breeze (peg 11) and Samuel MaCauley (peg 3).
Another first-timer, Hamish Barker caught the heaviest roach (6ozs) on the day in the last few minutes of the match from peg 16, which was a just reward for his perseverance.
Dan Blythe and Elijah MaCauley had 7ozs each, closely followed by Sebastian Boyer.
