Results from the Yarm Bank Holiday Open juniors match - Saturday 26 August 2023
The seven juniors who decided to fish this weekend, rather than doing other "Bank Holiday" things, enjoyed a bit better fishing at Halnaby than in recent weeks - although it still wasn't up to the standard of last year.
Jenny "Queen of the Bream" Breeze got back to her winning ways, with a 2lbs 6ozs bream and a skimmer of nearly 1lb accounting for half of her total weight of 6lbs 4ozs from peg 31. The bream both came to feeder tactics, and these were backed up with small roach and perch on maggot and a 3m whip.

Jacob Suess had 4lbs 3ozs of perch and roach on a short whip and maggot approach on peg 26.
Henry Burns came third with 3lbs 12ozs of roach and perch from peg 36, mainly on a short pole line with a few further out using waggler tactics.
Samuel Suess had 2lbs 13 ozs from peg 25, which included the heaviest perch of the day at 7ozs.
Theo Nicholson had 2lbs 10ozs from peg 28.
Jake Enderwick had 2lbs from peg 37, and he was convinced that his largest perch would earn him the prize for the heaviest of that species but it was just 1oz lighter than Samuel's. It didn't stop him smiling though.

Daniel Blythe again failed to tempt any bream from peg 30, but he did include roach up to 6ozs in his net of 1lb 10ozs.
